Jets might be looking to punt Hodges
December 9, 2008
The Jets made one minor roster move today, waiving RB Marcus Mason, who never got into a game. Obviously, they have someone in mind to fill that roster spot.
They also worked out three players today, including well-traveled veteran P Scott Player. Could the Jets be unhappy with Reggie Hodges? His net average is nearly two yards better than the dearly departed Ben Graham, but Hodges made his coach look bad Sunday in San Francisco, punting a touchback on the fourth-and-2 from the 49ers’ 38.
The Jets also worked out PK A.J. Haglund, formerly of the Arena League, and DB Dowayne Davis, a rookie free agent from Syracuse.
